We said this to the Board

At the 1-24-2017 board meeting we said this. They have now been put on notice. Phase two begins.

Hello Board, I am Don Fox with SchoolRezone.com

We are not going to appeal to your practicality because you don’t listen.

We are not going to appeal to you as a constituent because your back is turned.

We are here to put you on notice.

We the parents believe the new Longwood Rezone is in violation of the Seminole County Policy 5.31    We are demanding as constituents that the Seminole County School Board represent us and tell Joe Rinaldi that all four plans need to be scrapped and that he start fresh with the school zones drawn so that they not only fit within the school metrics for being within Policy 5.31.......    but also have an appearance that they conform to the Policy as well.   This decision is being driven solely by you.... the School Board. We are not fooled onto thinking that Walt Griffin makes this choice.    If three board members say to Joe Rinaldi from the facilities department to start over with a directive to get this right... including the appearance that it is within Policy 5.31 ..... then that is what happens.    We all have been hearing a lot of different things about these Rezone plans but one thing we don’t hear is that any of these, are good.    Most everyone says that they are very bad. The best plan of four very bad plans is still a very bad plan…. This is a failure and we expect better.   Abby Sanchez ran on being the parent’s board member.......    Abbey this is the time to stand on your principals and say that you are representative of the constituents of district three (3).....   .....and, that you are for a School Rezone that is a better representation of the School Board Policy 5.31.   There are three Seats up for grabs in 2018. By the time the first school year ends with our wildly draw zones we will be thinking about who will be representing Districts 1, 2 & 5.    If the board members for these three districts do not want to represent their constituents now then it will be time to refill those seats so that we regain a representative body.

Even if any one of you board members have to stand up for the parents in minority or alone.....    At least we know you are with us.    Stand up Please!

We also want our School Choice......   Florida just signed a law last year saying that we have School Choice.   Now we are being told we cant stay at our school because they will be at capacity.   That there will be a reduction of capacity at the existing Schools by removing Portables.   Sounds like they are trying to circumvent this law.   We need all portable buildings to stay in place till you know weather they are needed or not.   We don’t want to be forced to change schools.   School Choice should come first.    Walt your job hangs on the makeup of this school board. If we get three members on this board that support us we can say bye bye to you.   And when you go........ Joe Rinaldi will go next.    We can see his work and he performs poorly.   We have 20/20 vision. That means by the time 20/20 rolls around we will be removing the last dinosaur from the board.   Amy that is you....   The board better listen to the parents of SchoolRezone.com

We say you are in violation of Policy 5.31   Lets test this.........

2. The plan keeps subdivisions and small neighborhood units in the same attendance zone to the extent practicable.  (It looks like a duck.)

3. The plan assigns students to the closest school to the extent practicable. (It sounds like a duck.)

 4. The plan creates compact attendance zones with few or no island areas to the extent practicable. (It walks like a duck.)

7. The plans shall, to the extent practicable, minimize the duration of travel time and distance in order to promote safety and reduce transportation costs. The plans shall, to the extent practicable, not place a transportation burden on any identifiable diversity subgroup. (It quacks like a duck.)

8. To the extent practicable, the plans should take into consideration contiguous communities as defined by natural barriers, roads, railways, etc. (..................umm...there's nothing left but the sign on it that says "DUCK")

We don’t want your duck. We are entitled to School Choice.   During your discussions if you don’t say you are with us then we know you are against us. Thank You!
